Traditional Cable programming with HD channels
No HDTV is complete without HD channel programs running in it.
Subscribe to HD channels by calling your cable provider.
All most all of the TV channel broadcasting companies offer content in High Definition and also most of the cable providers provide those HD channels to their subscribers.
Greatest addition to your HD cable box is using DVR (Digital Video Recorder) service. This is exactly like VCR with only difference being not using the cassette but recorded programs will be stored in the DVR box (or on an external Hard drive if such provision is made by the cable provider).

DVR is my top pick among all digital entertainment devices as it gives so much flexibility of saving and playing the favorite TV programs right from your cable TV remote.
I will even recommend to buy external hard drive with huge capacity to record the TV programs and watch them whenever you like to do so.
Remember movies are getting stored in high defintion format in your own DVR storage or external hard disk, you do not need to look or search for a disc out of your favorite disc collections on the cupboard or rack, also you do not have to play them from network (like Netflix that requires high speed internet connection).
Your remote has everything in it, press, press and boom your favorite movie is on the screen.
One more bigger advantage of viewing movies from cable or from your DVR is watching them in full screen instead of movie coming up with widescreen with bars on top and bottom. Usually cable channels reformat the picture to fit the whole screen. It makes more sense to watch a movie with full screen on HDTV so that we can use all those High definition pixels. Blu ray player usually plays most of the movies (latest releases) in a wide screen format with bars on top and bottom. For more details check out Blu ray players section on our website.
We can always enjoy the movies in both full screen (covers all the pixels on your HDTV)and wide screen (movies are more crisp and clear with blu ray). Movies can be much more enjoyable to have a full screen from a Blu ray disc player but we do not have that yet. May be in future some new kind of technology within blu ray player that can re-format the picture on disc to full screen would be awesome.
